LifeVantage
Corporation is a publicly traded (OTCBB: LFVN) dietary supplement company and
was founded in 2003. The headquarter is in Salt
Lake City, UT and it also has operations
in San Diego, CA.
Its stock trades under the symbol LFVN and it will be considered a low value or
penny stock.
LifeVantage
sells an antioxidant dietary supplement called PROTANDIM which is
supposed to reduce aging. The company claims this antioxidant product is
many times more powerful than red wine, oranges, blueberries, juices or other
popular antioxidant supplements. Protandim works by increasing the body's
natural antioxidant protection.
The
company sells its product through network marketing, This sales method, also
known as Multi Level Marketing (MLM), can boost the sales because the users are
the buyers as well as the sales reps and they earn money by bringing other
users in their buyers/sales network. A few other companies that use MLM are AmWay, HerbaLife, Usana and NuSkin.

Protandim
Protandim sounds like an exotic high tech name but it
contains very commonly used herbal ingredients which can be available at cheaper
price. The product is just a mixture of these herbs packed into tablets.
Ingredients
Milk Thistle Extract, 80% silymarin (commonly used
for Liver health)
Bacopa Extract, 45% bacosides,
Ashwagandha root powder (a tonic in Indian Ayurvedic
medicine)
Green Tea Extract, 98% polyphenols (Asians have
been drinking it for thousands of years)
Tumeric Extract, 95% curcumin (used as spice in
food, curry in India)
Other ingredients:
Calcium Carbonate,
Croscarmellos Sodium, Dicalcium Phosphate, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline
Cellulose, Modified Cellulose, Silica, Stearic Acid.
Caffeine: Protandim contains less than 4
mg. of caffeine. (For comparison, a Starbuck's coffee may contain up to 150 mg.
and "caffeine free" coffee may contain between 4-7 mg.)
Donny Osmond, the
spokesperson
In September 2011, the company announced that the singer
Donny Osmond has joined LifeVantage as a spokesperson. According to Donny:
